I'm gonna brutally honest, fuck The Patriot. The 2.75 hour runtime is nowhere near justified. The three man ambush on a British platoon was fake and gay. Too many characters were cartoonish. Whole thing felt like an insult to the viewer's intelligence and not in an entertaining [ironic] way either. Also, there wasn't a single reference to the British Empire suppressing speech and confiscating guns which is motivation enough to shoot them without Gibson's character's trite revenge arc
