nta but it's really not that hard. if it's a time issue like you're in deep into a career or you've got a newborn, i'd get it, but 9 times out of 10 on this site, people complain about having no friends, and when people give them obvious advice, they reply with

which is a very sad lens through which to view life because most people in most periods of human existence have had friends regardless of age. your great great great great .... x1000 grandfather probably had friends, and he didn't have access to the pool of people you do. take a moment to acknowledge that you're really not trying, then open up your mind and listen to the advice people are giving you. unless of course you're just a depressive schizo who doesn't want help. been there done that, and trust me, pretending it's out of your hands isn't going to make it any easier to spend yet another birthday/holiday by yourself.
