Look at picrel. The shift from 1970 to 1979 was massive:

Meanwhile look at the bottom, inthe last 25 years it basically went from:

That's about 5 years of change in the 20th century. The reason change is so slow now is because it's been purposely shifted towards getting 3rd worlders and minorities to parity with western civilization rather then letting western civilization innovate at the levels they usually do. So we are sort of stagnating but 3rd worlders who were living in the 1930s are catching up, so I guess that's something.
