I've decided to paint up the mechs from the starter box in different paint schemes as testbeds for when I end up actually putting a coherent formation together.

As you can see on the locust, I've tried doing a tiger stripe camo, but it's not that well visible on camera or in-person for that matter. Also, it took me several hours to paint it, with a good 3/4 of that time just trying to get the camo right, so I'm hoping for something:
-Quicker to paint
-More visible at the scale

The Shadow Hawk got painted in a grey-bluegrey-black colour scheme roughly in accordance to armour coverage, but combined with the wash I think it turned out quite dull. I'd probably have better results just painting the whole thing grey and washing it with a few highlights as panels.

I've basecoated the rest for now, my colours of choice being those that came in the VA and AK sets for soviet tanks and aircraft.
