The thing that annoys me is the Xbox layout is the result of a really fucked up game of telephone

>for some retarded reason the western branch of Playstation decides to swap the buttons for confirm and cancel
>Xbox copies the western Playstation layout while keeping the Nintendo buttons, creating a horrible frankenstein which to this day still puzzles me on how it became the standard
And don't even get me started on how putting confirm at the bottom fucked up the controls in the western releases of Kingdom Hearts.
