You can speed up the attack animations and even put the combat in autoplay if you want. I use both when dungeon exploring but will return to manual control when fighting tougher enemies or mobs with magic wielding creatures since I need to use my mage to spell-bind the enemy magic users.
You can try Dungeon RPG -Abyssal Dystopia- where you can move around the dungeon like in Wizardry Variants Daphne but when fighting enemy mobs, there are really no attack animations. So it's like Dragon Quest combat from the earlier games which is itself took inspiration from Wizardry.
