The final chapter before the epilogue where it made him seem like he lost all his friends was an L. There's no reason why someone as connected and friendly as Deku deserved to just lose on all fronts, even if him being a teacher was kind of sweet. At least he landed Ochaco like he should have (the entire series was hinting at this pairing, it was cowardly not to imply this ship in the final chapter)
