Because if you use a truck as a truck, a unibody will twist and flex whereas a frame underneath will remain rigid. This was a constant issue for the old Jeep XJ cherokees when they were taken off road, so much so that several companies made weld on frame stiffeners for them. Obviously OP isn't going to push his Maverik that hard, but it isn't some "unknown reason" you are just a wrenchlet who lacks life experience.
