Lots of other things are carcinogenic that they won't signal as being carcinogenic
-Fiberglass insulation was greenlit because it was shown to be carcinogenic. but less carcinogenic that asbestos (much safer alternative)
-RoundUp is similar to one of the DNA bases and has mutagenic activity
-Chemicals leached from plastic food containers

The cancer industry also depends on an increasing number of diagnoses, so they are incentivized to do everything they can to diagnose as many cases as possible

The tobacco industry appears to have been singled out for attack, while other carcinogens go untouched.
Maybe scapegoating for other industries?
