I'm confused where whaling and pimped up cards and builds come into play, is it only a major factor in the PvP races or can you just outright not finish the career mode all the way to the end with subpar comps? In the few other gachas I've played you usually could just stick with the singleplayer component of the game without having to sweat it out in PvP, you'd be losing out on some income sure but it's nothing worth losing your hair about.
