No one straight up hated Hybrid Theory for its music, that shit sold platinum.
It just became fun to rag on it for the suicidal lyric composition because it was the early 2000s and kids were starting to hate the emo subculture that was slowly starting to form.

Hybrid Theory was my first album I possessed, I literally remember 2 weeks of every kid loving it and then hating it over fickle kid shit, probably in the same vain of hating basically anything that was popular.
