See, that's what I don't understand. I have no problem with difficulty. Making bosses harder, more modifiers, reduced loot etc.. What I don't understand is the hardcore part of it. It does not respect the time spent learning the challenges and overcoming them.
I wasn't sure if I had a problem playing HC or not, so you know what I did? I did the HC achievement in PoE the last few days just to get a feel for it and see if it was more enjoyable. The result? It wasn't any more difficult. If anything it was less difficult because I was forced to play differently. Avoiding anything fun and making safe plays constantly. Oh, and I never used the logout thing that faggots do, because at that point you might as well just play SC.
If the Gauntlet was simply challenging SSF content, I think it would be much more approachable for people who aren't Ben_.
Again - I don't mind the difficulty, but I do mind wasting my time on something that is not fun.
