Only if they are of the same rarity. There's a huge difference in stats between even a level 60 purple rank IV and a diamond level 45 rank III
If you aren't actively getting something very, very good passive or skill wise out of the higher ranked persona, then you're actually just losing stats (unless they're both the same rarity)
