Nearing 40 here and I did burn like 15 years on the genre with nothing to show for it. It's one of those things no one should invest themself into beyond friendly drunk mashing at a party with friends offline. So much time, money, investment and passion just pissed into the wind.
At least other esports have a tiny chance of going pro and getting a regular paycheck but fighting games? Literal evolutionary dead end and you won't realize till you hairline is running away.
