These numbers are basically all before Wonderland fucked things up but Abyss is very much early Shadow. Deathly Tyrant is exciting enough that I took an Atomy/DT deck to an /svg/ tournament live even, but it was not how the deck was typically played.
Shadow was always the "default midrange" deck that tried to out value everything with recursion and cheated stats. Abyss has a ton of cards that're direct parallels to Shadow staples, Cerberus being Eachtar is the most obvious thing, but value oriented play simply isn't good in WB where everything is tempo oriented and the card quality isn't strong enough to make up the difference. The concepts are still there but Blood's the one that suffers the death of identity. They kept nothing except self damage.
