the thing is if blowing the screen up with your melee skill makes it "not melee" then none of the melee archetypes in poo2 are melee
heraldslopping/armour exploding the entire screen isnt melee nor is hitting infernal cry and autoattacking to blow up the screen. damn near every poo2 melee build is taking aoe nodes to scale their fucking cultist mace autoattacks lmao dont even get me started on ice monk or lightning spear
