There is something so inherently childish about Rodion's depiction of despair. Gregor loses everything dear to him, but he uses the misery as fuel to gigachad it up and point his mind in one direction - to deliver back the pain tenfold.
And while Rodya's stems from a deep pit of relatable self-loathing, the usual trigger is just not getting what she wanted. Like, get the fuck over it.
