In all honesty, SAO would be immeasurably more interesting from the perspective of other players who have to watch Kirito lead the way and be the most poorly written MC in the universe while they struggle with their realistic limitations. Just imagine some poor player who's best friend got murdered by Laughing Coffin, thinking "Those FUCKERS, I'm going to find those shit-eating bastards and rip their fingers off in real life the SECOND we get out of here" only to have his moment of furious grief cut short by a crowd of various women (revealed to be extremely sexy IRL) all cheering when Kirito simply enters the town they were nearby.
