Optics on pistols aren't really that big of a deal IMO. I've shot them multiple times and never found a tremendous difference between a red dot and open sights, unlike with rifles.

If you like a dot on your pistol, by all means use one. Its not a complete game changer though and you still need to learn how to shoot.
