A mid value production with a good script. They actually have really good concept art and decent scripts even when the production kind of blows. I think G5's original art is magnificent.

The old artbook original pitch for G4 where it had a darker G1ish tone with G4 style horses.
The 'lore' about only Equestria operating on its own rules was interesting. Horses have to fake their seasons and create their own weather, raise their own fake sun and moon,... but if you step out into Everfree things grow "on their own" and this is extremely freaky to ponies.
It also solves the non-issue of other races not really respecting or caring much for ponies, when the show implication is that Celestia and Luna personally make days happen.
You cant just keep half of it. What do you mean windigos are real and the only thing keeping the continent (potentially the world?) from becoming an arctic wasteland is ponies? Do people outside know about this?
