It was definitely because of WoW. They probably wanted an equivalent in the Asian markets and picked Bastard! as the IP based on it due to factors like the crowd's age and it being fantasy. I do wish they released more than just screenshots after cancelling it. 4 years is more than enough for a lot to be made.
