Pikmin gives me hope that we'll see another Star Fox game.
After Zero failed, Miyamoto said in an interview that he always wished Star Fox and Pikmin were more popular and that he'd put more effort into those series in the future.
In the past couple of years, Pikmin has seen a complete revival.
>Pikmin 3 Deluxe became the best-selling entry in the series
>Pikmin 1 + 2 were remastered and shadow-dropped
>Pikmin 4 was real and became the best selling game in the series
>Nintendo stated that fans won't have to wait long for Pikmin 5
>Plus some mobile games sprinkled in there
I genuinely believe its only a matter of time before Star Fox gets the same big push that Pikmin did.
Even if Miyamoto is just a producer or some other less-involved role, he'll still be behind the revival effort.
Like I can see Star Fox being Miyamoto's big magnum opus effort before retirement.
