And now everyone's jerking themselves raw over Surge because "omg evil sonic gf so hot" but mark my fucking words. The SECOND she gets her inevitable redemption arc and joins the good guys, she'll become just another piece of worthless cast bloat taking up space. Because that's what always happens with these IDW additions. They start with some edge or interesting gimmick, then get neutered into generic friendship-spouting nobodies who serve zero narrative purpose beyond filling panels. Surge's ENTIRE character and reason for existing hinges on Ian's shitty IDW version of Sonic that always preaches about moral high ground bullshit. Evan Stanley is already pushing her toward redemption shit and forcing her into the Diamond Cutters because god forbid we have a villain stay a villain.
The absolute state of this fanbase's attention span is genuinely embarrassing. No wonder SEGA doesn't take any of these characters seriously. They know damn well that in six months everyone will have moved on to the next lesbian wolf girl or whatever the fuck Flynn decides to shit out next. It's like watching goldfish get excited about the same plastic castle every time you rearrange the tank. These aren't Sonic characters, they're just Ian's OCs wearing Sonic branding, and watching people fall for it every single time is both hilarious and depressing.
The funniest part is how people act like these characters "add stuff to the cast" when all they do is create more soap opera drama that nobody asked for. IDW can only function by making everything into emotional trauma porn, and when they can't even do that right, they just fucking flounder around until the next crying lesbian shows up to restart the cycle.
