This makes perfect sense seeing as these people can't let go of dead characters in the story and they s.oypoint any time a dead character returns in some way. It's really ironic because the story of Final Fantasy VII is about loss and learning how to move forward when there's a hole in your heart. I think there's a significant number of fans in the FF fandom who were never able to accept that characters die, maybe because the concept of mortality makes them upset and they just want the jingling keys.
They get so happy whenever they get to see Aerith, Zack and even Sephiroth alive. They want all these characters to just live and exist forever without having to let them go.
