To be entirely fair, in a way that fight has such a bizarre design that basically trolls the player.

>Not only that but also all those actions are genuinely useless and in the case of Kris, actively make it harder, since both light up and bigger vacuum radius barely even change anything
>Kris' ability is advertised as speeding you up, which you may consider great because you'd believe you need to hurry even though you don't so in the end you're faster, thus have less precise control, speedrunning it doesn't matter actually AND once the pumpkin actually shows up he is sped up too so it's just harder to run away from him without hitting something on the way, meaning you're literally spending 18% TP to make it harder for yourself
So this entire fight really has such a bizarre stupid design in a sense that it tells you to hurry up, except hurrying up actually makes it worse and the actions meant to help you make it actively harder or just burn your TP.
If you take all 3 actions, thinking they'll help you speed up thus survive like promised, you lose 54% TP in total instead of 6% like it would appear on the surface.

Essentially it trolls you into actively making the fight harder for yourself by feeding you misinformation and I do not think that is intentional.
