Is there a name for this specific style of baitpost, where you hold an established opinion or position that would be considered controversial (in this case opposing Muslims in the UK) but you know your head would be bitten off if you came out and said that.

So you manufacture a fictional scenario in which you don't hate muslims and post it as the form of a question, under the guise of a well-meaning person who holds the accepted PC view, where the question deliberately encourages people to entertain your viewpoint while trying to avoid your own views being detected.

You see it all the time with cuckposts, on Reddit especially, where there's some elaborate cock & bull story (pun intended) and the author has penned the post as if it's been written by someone who has know idea what cuckoldry even is (often pretending to be a woman), yet somehow a cuck situation has crept into their life and now the poster needs advice. And in posing his question he gets 3k commenters to think about his fetish.

I want to call it a dogwhistle but it's slightly different to that because a dogwhistle has an intended audience besides the poster but in these fake stories it is never the author's intention to be found out. For his intents and purposes he wants everyone who reads to the post to take it at face value so the intended discussion can play out. It's similar to astroturfing but again I dunno if that is specific enough.
