I would recommend the following:
>try a wheated bourbon, a "standard" mash bill bourbon like Wild Turkey 101, a high-rye bourbon, a rye whiskey, a peated single malt Scotch, an unpeated sherry cask-aged single malt Scotch, and an unpeated bourbon cask-aged single malt Scotch - you will figure out what you like and don't like quite quickly by doing this
>avoid Johnnie Walker like the plague, as it is all bad, boring and overpriced
