Ultimately the film has to have contrivances to maintain the small scale British feel of the first one. Trying to go 'bigger' in order to explain the logic of the world and what happened here or there just leads you to shit like 28 Weeks later.
Honestly stunned that they actually made the film they did and not 28 YEARS LATER INFECTED IN NEW YORK !!! type shit which is what I was expecting
