I don't think you understand what those traditions were and why Jesus Christ got after them about it. They were painting the traditions as something you must do to remain spiritually clean before God which wasn't Biblical at all, it had nothing to do with hygiene. Essentially they were adding on to the Scriptures while also using their traditions to nullify other parts of the Scriptures. Adding to and taking away from God's word is a very serious sin which is what tthe jewish leaders were doing with their traditions and it is why Jesus Christ got after them all the time.
