Don't know who that is, but I'm quitting ranked this season too. Maybe even drop the game after this season because I'm sticking around only for Chloe's daughter and Adina.
I can't think of many team games that are as hostile toward parties as ER. Dota and Apex allow party matchmaking all the way to the highest rank because they understand friend stacks keep players interested and the amateur scene alive. NN bends over backward for lonely kids crying about how "unfair" parties are and completely bans them above half-decent rank.
Funny thing is, a lot of professional players/streamers know each other, so I've seen them just get on a Discord call when they get matched together in a ranked game. So the only ones who get fucked over by NN's system are mid-level players who are good at the game but can't/won't make a living off of it.
This kind of matchmaking also favors people who play carries that have potential to 1v3 and sucks for support/tank players. See how there's only 2 support/tank players in top 100 last season (maybe 5 if you count Elena mains, but I believe Elena is a brawler more than a tank): https://dak.gg/er/leaderboard?teamMode=SQUAD&season=SEASON_16&serverName=seoul&page=1 Not to mention playing support/tank feels way less impactful in this game. In Dota, even if your carries are all twats, you can often win by soloing objectives. That kind of win is nearly impossible in ER. Your best hope is just escaping.
Add to all that, how much I dislike the general direction ER is taking with gameplay and character design (after the disappointment that is Istvan, I have 0 hope for future characters). I just don't enjoy this game as much as I once did.
