>she starts "beating him", but it's made apparent she can't actually bring herself to hit him that hard, so she's really just slapping the MC in the cheeks with her sleeves and he finds it cute while assuring her he isn't cheating
>Perili looks suspiciously at him while asking if he means it
>MC thinks for a second about how to put his "true feelings" so as to best remedy this situation and make her happy again
>MC decides, in his INFINITE WISDOM, to say that even if he's friends with and likes everyone, he 'really loves Perili'
>Perili explains to him that Penguin Girls are tolerant when it comes to love but like most other Bird Girls when they have made up their minds on the husband they'll take in marriage, they will stay with their loved one for the rest of their life
>She then adds (while still smiling widely) that if he does marry and cheat on her she will not forgive him and will spank him hundreds of times until his eyes look like a dead fish

I love how most Bird Girls tend to have the personality traits of the birds they're similar to.
If I didn't know what Japanese Sparrows were like, she would seem more psychotic than Chirp.
