It's not even that, it's the fact time essentially stagnated after the pandemic. It doesn't feel like it's been half a decade since 2020, it feels like 2019 was a couple years ago at most. People are missing huge chunks of time, and no new media be it books, movies, vidya are there to create a new cultural zeitgeist. Our very own lifespans have stagnated.
