Gen 3 FRLG Kanto, timeline wise a prequel of Gen 2 GSC Johto plot, had Archer and Ariana with much stronger and solid teams not fucking around in terms of base stats and damage from their STAB and coverage.
The Muk, Weezing and Houndoom were pretty wild, others slightly less but still threatening. Golbat was fast and had the usual Confusion + Poison HP consuming strats. Not to mention these teams absolutely mog Archie and Maxie teams from both RSE and ORAS.
