I do not want to live in an liberal, atheistic, Muslim, or Hindu dystopia - because I've seen the fruits of these beliefs on the societal scale.

Hell is just the absence of God. If you don't like God and don't want to be around Him, he won't force you to. Absence of Gods love = pain. It's like running away from home as a kid and wondering why mom and dad aren't feeding you.. You ran away. They love you, but you have free will.
