pain
this is only the second sheet I’ve managed to draw today because I’m doing more study than drawing, idk how much of it is going to stick
the background leg on the gestured mannequin is awful but the paper’s worn and tearing around that area so I can’t really erase it physically, a redline would be appreciated so I can see what I should’ve done (how I could draw the foot in 3/4 view instead of perpendicular or something)

thanks very very much again, frankly that stupid mannequin pose has broken my spirit (and my hand) for now so I don’t have the energy to reply, I applied what you said and incorporated techniques from two different tutorials (one on basic wire skeleton posing, one on basic geometric mannequin proportions) into that one sketch; it helped but I’m cautious that I might overwhelm myself with too many ways and methods to do the same thing (like that cowboy analogy at the very start of keys to drawing)
I’ll remember to implement the specific critique and advice you’ve given once I’m ready and gotten comfortable with posing basic skeletons, I tried to use cross contour lines on the legs to find out what the fuck is going on but it just made them look like baguettes since I haven’t looked at any tutorials on them yet
in future I’m going to actually try to find a reference that resembles what’s in my head because holyyy fuck I cannot intuit this stuff, and trial and erroring every line until it happens to “work” without actually thinking about it doesn’t seem like an effective way of learning for me, especially if I end up destroying the medium I’m practicing on
