Both of them are linear hallway games. Lies of P is better because it brings back the weighted combat and Geppetto Boy's dodge isn't ridiculous. The Lords of the Fallen despite being jankier is even better because it actually bothers to have world design.
The best Souls Clone however is Salt and Sanctuary because it's the only game to actually evolve the mechanics and exploration past what Dark Souls 1 had, has great character building and customization, and isn't hyper casualized and has actual stakes to progressing through the world. It's just to bad it's a rather ugly game.

Salt and Sanctuary understood the essence of DS1 better than Fromsoft itself.
Shame about their next game tho
