>buy console at launch at astronomical prices
>couple of okay-ish launch titles
>retrocompatibility makes people's jaws drop cause now they can pretend they're going to replay old games they didn't even care to beat back when it was released
>games being released the following 3 to 4 years were actually being developed for last gen, so you didn't really need to rush to upgrade cause older gen is still getting the games you'd wanna play
>5 years into a console life cycle until you finally start to get some decent "next-gen" exclusives
>2 more years until a next console is released
>repeat

Why has console gaming turned to such kikery? How can it be sustainable to release consoles every 7 years when there's never focus on the experience for the current console? Companies are always making games with the next console in mind, so now most AAA games being released have performance issues because they are thinking of a future re-release/remaster or they just straight up don't release the most wanted titles now because they want it to get all the publicity of being on "next-gen".

Whenever i get tired of console shit i'm just gonna sell everything and build a high-end PC and pirate every single triple A game released, i won't be treated like cattle anymore.
