What the balance team did to Garen they should do to every other bruiser like Lee or Xin who just kill you before you can even blink and are still super mobile and super durable as well.
Why has it just been accepted that bruisers can pretty much do anything better than anyone for so long? That *is* their core defining trait - being the empty space between tanks and assassins - not being as good as either of them at their strengths (tanks' durability/armor/MR or assassins' potential damage output) but the way it's been ever since maybe even the Divine Sunderer days is that bruisers just do both of those things better than the classes that are supposed to be the best at it.
J4 should not be able to one-shot with R. Lee Sin should not be able to one-shot with R. Xin should not be able to get on top with you and kill you before the knock up cycle even ends. Jax should not be able to one shot you before his E stun cycle even ends. etcetra. I wish the game just got more changes. It feels stagnant lately.
There's also the stuff with Mundo/Heartsteel one-shots now too but that's a whole other thing dating back to Unending Despair being made a joke item because they just refused to nerf Jayce and Mundo directly instead of the item and now wow, what a surprise, Mundo's broken again and the item remains useless. Whatever.
