kind of? it's the closest thing but it's moreso popping puyo with rpg gameplay most likely as a reminder of what came before due to being the 25th anniversary game but i'd still classify it as a main entry just due to the fact everything outside the story mode is just more usual puyo popping against friends or the ai (just without every character because i guess they didn't bother fully making lagnus, seriri, harpy, onion pixie or dongurigaeru outside of skill battles). i'd call it a grey area where it depends on who you're talking to.

i wish it hadn't have bombed so hard, it's genuine fun if you're into shit like constantly upgrading your shit or just beating up the postgame superbosses but it seems like all it'll ever be known for is being made shitty in tetris 2 and ally and rafisol becoming two more members of the "we have to be in every single game afterwards" group.
