I think it's just a matter of English being an international language and there are more people who want to write in it even if they're not good at it. Some people might do it to practice their English too. I also think my English has deteriorated since when I was a college freshman who still had to read a few books and write book reports and essays every semester.
Press Switch also have some peculiar mistakes in places, and I saw this sentence too many times for the mistake to be just a one-off.
