you still need wallcling stuff in xrd and most of his good combos are still fairly hard and character specific, as well as being one of the only characters that still needs manual jump installs regularly and stuff like grounded jump cancel blitz etc
He's obviously not as hard as in +r but is one of the harder characters in the game executionally, combined with his tendency to explode significantly harder than other characters and generally low damage he's always been one of the less played characters because of how punishing he is to make mistakes as and how easy they are to make despite being pretty solidly placed on tier lists and having good tournament results
