nice "bigger picture" perspective from someone who can't even follow their own line of logic.
when the populace is disarmed and has no chance of defending itself, bad actors are also equally aware of this and are more likely to take advantage of it. have you ever heard of the phrase, "an armed society is a polite society"? you can't materialize a weapon out of thin air, there has to be provisions for it. and for that matter, people aren't born criminals either. but as far as what motivates people to pursue a life of crime instead of employment is an entirely separate subject.

not a secret, and this is also mostly endemic to how people treat firearms like an 'off switch' and are usually unable to separate their emotional impulses from this, and the perception that it's much easier than addressing the underlying factors of why you feel that way or even just reaching out. this also bleeds over into the subject of the quality of healthcare in each country. for example in America, a firearm costs about as much as a dentist visit, and if you need more complex work done, they cost much less than that.

perhaps, but that also means that they need access to those methods and are willing to follow through with them. just by reducing immediate access in adverse emotional states, reduces the likelihood that you will still be in that emotional state later on and ergo, less likely to commit.
