Got to the point where I was working on filling out a WOFT packet to apply to be a helicopter pilot and leave my 6 figure job late last year and then promptly stopped answering calls from recruiters.
I don't want to give the best years of my life to the American military to fight in some sandy hellhole for Israel. If it were easier to become a JayHawk pilot I probably would have gone that route, but unfortunately they almost exclusively hire former Mil pilots and there are fewer slots for the job than most fighter aircraft.
If you want to serve your country, join DHS or ICE or Border Patrol, if I get fired or laid off I'll be at a DHS recruitment office the next day.
