Honestly it sounds like you just need to buy some lightweight soft body armor if shit's that bad there or better yet just move. I dunno what exactly to recommend so just cross-post this thread and ask the GearQueers what the current meta is for body armor that doesn't scream 'I'M WEARING BODY ARMOR GUYS!!'.
