Decided to give the apps a shot, and they are even worse than I expected. Holy shit. I went with Hinge and Upward because I figured they would be the more popular ones where I live, although I really wish there was some hard data to back that up.
Upward gives you a ton of space to write, and most of the girls seemed pretty chill. However, the geolocator is suspicious, and the free version blocks off some important features. Meanwhile, Hinge looks like a total nightmare so far even with all the free filters on. Crop-tops, "figuring out dating goals," and pronouns abound.
