Nah i disagree, i feel like falcom knew what they're gonna with the characters, but they absolutely refused to properly build it up or gives us some hints. If you replay Kuro 1 and 2, you might get some better context after Kai. Like with Agnes glowing in the first scene or the trion tower having the all these genesis shaped holes. There's also 'jokes' about Kincaid being shady and he looks like he'll backstab you someday. I blame the lack of direction and the enormous amount of filler bogging Calvard arc down.
