An alien crew was hired by an intergalactic otaku to kidnap princesses from different star systems for his collection. They capture several, leaving them in stasis tanks with a brainwashing program to make them obedient to their new owner. A crew of bounty hunters hired by the rulers of previous victims catches up to them and they have to make some emergency hyperspace jumps to evade them. They succeed, but the incident has left them far from any advanced planets and low on plutonium. The astrogator locates Earth, a planet they don't usually bother with because it's mostly democracies and military dictatorships and what few princesses it has left are badly inbred, but the two most powerful nations are in the middle of a thermonuclear arms race. They set course for Earth, but come out of hyperspace right next to an orbiting nuclear missile platform and no longer have the power to maneuver. The explosion takes out the ship's bridge, leaving the cargo section to tumble down to Earth. It skips on the ocean and comes to rest on a Japanese beach, where a young man is the only person not to run away because he's tired from outrunning a gang of punks (he's a cross-country runner). After regaining his breath, he decides to investigate, and finds his way into the cargo hold. There, he interrupts the brainwashing of the princesses by pulling the lever to open the tanks (five stages: Force obedience, Associate obedience with pleasure, Crave commands to obey, Punish attempts to make own decisions, Erase personality).
