Well as I said before, here are my honest thoughts on the matter:
I am a Muslim and have been homeless before, met a lot of military veterans. Many of them were spiritually defeated and hooked on junk, the GWOT was evil.
I held a lot of bitterness and resentment for the GWOT, but this experience changed my heart and these men are ultimately my countrymen.
I would like to do charity work for the homeless and invite them to Islam. Islam cures addiction and suicidal depression.
Muslims have an obligation to charity, it is called Zakat, and it extends to people in need of all creeds and colors.
