I've considered it before but China's actually on a downward cultural trend in the grand scheme of things. They made some good movies in the 80s and 90s, but even then they mostly played second fiddle to Hong Kong. Everything anime-related of theirs I've seen has been an unrecognizably soulless cashgrab, and their writing is among the worst in the world. Nowadays, Japan's sloppiest narou-kei is China's norm. Worst of all, learning Chinese means associating with Chinese people.
