You can do both. Study at collge, apply for jobs in the field as a helper or apprentice for all days you are not there. It's hard work and shit pay but the end goal is that you have a skill set and experience that actually makes you useful.

Big Brain will learn the ropes and do it for themselves or find a niche within the field to not have to work for anyone else again.
